General Questions
Who is FEMA?
FEMA stands for the Federal Emergency Management Administration. Operated by
the U.S. Government, they manage all natural disasters from floods, hurricanes,
earthquakes and fires. They are the federal government's response team. They
also operate the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).
What is NFIP?
NFIP stands for the National Flood Insurance Program. This enables insurance
carriers (companies) to offer inexpensive insurance that covers catastrophic
flooding. The NFIP is operated under the auspices of the Federal Emergency Management
Administration (FEMA).
How do I protect against flooding?
Review the flood zone for your area and become familiar with the threat of flooding.
Mitigation and preparation of a disaster plan are your best bets for protection.
What good does a Disaster Recovery Plan
do?
Surprisingly, it can make a tremendous amount of difference in the effectiveness
and speed of your recovery.
Your plan will guide you through all the processes you need to do to get things
going again. When the panic of the emergency meets your reasoning power, things
just don't seem to run smoothly. Many decisions are made in haste, for the moment,
not in contemplation of how they will work in the future.
Your well thought out Disaster Recovery Plan will have been completed beforehand,
when all the possibilities can be well thought out and logical, rational decisions
made. When the time comes that you need the plan, you can rest assured that all
you have to do is follow the instructions within.
Call us now to begin your plan - then you can rest easy knowing that it is all
done in advance, just in case. |

Billing Questions
Do you charge by the hour, or bid for entire projects?
We can do
both. Most often, we work by the hour. Our clients like this flexibility
since every project has different needs. Periodically, we will
offer a fixed bid for a very well defined project. For some clients,
we come up with a hybrid of both hourly and fixed bidding. In general,
we do whatever makes the most sense for our client and the project
in question.
Do you bill for your time spent in meetings, phone calls, or writing
emails?
Time is a valuable product, for all parties involved. We
bill for any time we spend assisting you. This may include site
visits, meetings and phone calls. We don’t bill time for
spent on “business” activities
such as sales calls, initial consultations, contract negotiation,
accounting, billing, our own education, our equipment maintenance,
or cleaning out the refrigerator.
How do you calculate your billable time?
We round each task's total
time to the nearest quarter hour. We normally don’t count
quick phone calls or emails that take only a few minutes to respond
to.
Do you charge for travel time or expenses?
We will not charge for
travel time or expenses unless this has been pre-negotiated and
agreed upon. This is determined on an individual basis.
Do you require a signed contract?
Yes. Due to the nature of our
business it is in the best interest of both parties to have a detailed
synopsis of the work that is to be performed including rates and
expenses (if applicable).
How do I pay for your services?
If we are working for you by the
hour, we will submit an invoice to you on an agreed upon date.
We reserve the right to ask for a moderate retainer if we deem
necessary. If the project is a fixed bid, the term of payment will
be negotiated with the client.
What is the minimum project size that you will accept?
We don’t
have any size limitations. Any project will be happily discussed.
