CASE STUDIES

Project Scope:
Consulting and advising client on FEMA eligibility policies, state reimbursement procedures and practices, and coordination with insurance. Initiated meetings and provided written analysis of damages to develop project eligibility and cost. 

Objectives/Accomplishments:
DMS assisted the school district in getting FEMA to determine that over 90 school buildings were significantly damaged. Aided in procurement of funds for facilities for 6 temporary campuses . This resulted in the school district receiving funding from FEMA and insurance for 6 campuses including over $95,000,000.00 for Charlotte High School.

Objectives/Accomplishments:
DMS assisted the district in getting a $25,000,000.00 advance from their insurance company within 30 days following Hurricane Katrina. We aided in getting FEMA to pay for 4 temporary campuses and a temporary administration building, and also to approve the replacement of 2 campuses, the districts administration building and several individual facilities at various schools.


Project Scope:

Objectives/Accomplishments:
DMS assisted in getting FEMA to fund a temporary level one trauma center to replace the services lost at Charity Hospital. The project was approximately $60,000,000.00 to renovate University Hospital to function as a trauma center.


Project Scope:

Objectives/Accomplishments:
DMS assisted in getting FEMA to fund a temporary facility at the cost of approximately $12,000,000.00 and a permanent facility at an estimated cost of $20,000,000.00
